Rachel & Pete's St Georges Cathedral Wedding
For every person who doesn’t believe in fate, or destiny, or divine intervention, there is a love story that proves that some things are just meant to be… and Rachel and Pete’s love story is one of them.
It was a desire to learn how to sail that had Rachel at the Royal Perth Yacht Club on the day she met Pete. It just so happened that Pete was a member of the yacht club and he was there the day that Rachel decided to venture out on the water. They officially met on board a boat named ‘Odette’.
Rachel had come to Perth from the UK to work as a doctor. On meeting Pete, love blossomed between the two of them and the rest, as they say, is history.
They got married earlier this year and, after their relaxed engagement shoot, I had the pleasure of capturing their wedding. The whole day was a magnificent retelling (and celebration) of their love story.
A wedding characterised by classic elegance and heritage charm, Rachel and Pete were married in St George’s Cathedral, Perth. Rachel got ready at The Como Treasury Hotel and then took a short walk across to the cathedral when it was time for her to walk down the aisle.
After the formalities were concluded, wedding guests made their way to The Royal Perth Yacht Club, where Rachel and Pete’s love story had begun.
In another charming nod to their story, Rachel and Pete’s wedding cake was a replica of the boat where they officially met. The talented Sarah, from Takes the Cake, even made the cake topper figures of Rachel and Pete matching Pete’s suit, Rachel’s hairpiece and Odette’s logo from the pictures she was given. Absolutely incredible.
Rachel and Pete, thank you again for entrusting me with capturing your special day. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness together.
